Crafting the Foundational Sales Narrative & Toolkit
Project Overview & Headline
This case study details the creation of Solaris's first-ever professional sales collateral suite. This project established a unified commercial narrative and equipped the growing sales team with a powerful toolkit, including the master sales presentation, product one-pagers, and case study templates. This foundational work was critical for building brand credibility and scaling the company's go-to-market message.
The Context & Challenge
In the early days of Solaris, the company had a groundbreaking product but lacked a standardized way to tell its story. The commercial team was growing, but each member was creating their own sales materials. This led to several critical challenges:
-
Inconsistent Messaging: The core value proposition was being communicated differently across the team, diluting the brand and causing market confusion.
-
Lack of Professionalism: The absence of a professionally designed, unified set of materials did not reflect the high quality of the company's technology platform.
-
Complex Product Story: The Banking-as-a-Service platform was powerful but difficult to explain. A simple, compelling narrative was needed to engage C-level prospects.
The challenge was to translate a complex technical product into a clear, persuasive story and embody that story in a world-class sales toolkit.
The Process & The Role
A three-phase process was undertaken to build this essential toolkit, focusing on strategy, content, and design.
Phase 1: Distilling the Core Narrative & Sales Strategy
The process began with a series of deep-dive sessions with the founders and product leaders to distill the company's vision into a powerful core narrative. This involved:
-
Defining the "Why": Crafting the overarching story of why the company existed and the market problem it solved.
-
Value Proposition Messaging: Developing clear, benefit-oriented messaging for each target audience.
-
Storytelling Arc: Structuring the narrative for a sales conversation, designed to build from problem to solution to vision.
Phase 2: Content Creation & Visual Design
With a clear narrative, the focus shifted to producing the core assets.
-
The Master Sales Deck: A comprehensive, beautifully designed presentation was created to serve as the primary tool for all sales conversations.
-
Product One-Pagers: A series of concise, visually engaging one-pagers were designed for each core product module (e.g., Digital Banking, Lending, Cards).
-
Case Study Templates: A standardized template was designed to showcase early partner success stories, providing powerful social proof.
A consistent visual identity (typography, color palette, iconography) was applied across all materials to ensure a professional and cohesive brand experience.
Phase 3: Centralization & Team Adoption
Creating the assets was only half the battle. To ensure they were used effectively, a central repository was established. A training session was conducted for the entire commercial team to walk them through the new toolkit, explain the core narrative, and role-play the new pitch to ensure message consistency and adoption.
The Results & Impact
The creation of this foundational sales toolkit had a direct and lasting impact on the company's commercial success.
-
Unified the Company's Commercial Message: For the first time, the entire team was aligned on a single, powerful narrative, leading to a more consistent and professional brand presence.
-
Elevated Brand Perception: The high-quality design of the materials immediately elevated the company's brand perception and built credibility with large enterprise prospects.
-
Improved Pitch Effectiveness: The clear, story-driven sales deck made it easier for reps to explain a complex product, leading to more engaging and effective sales conversations.
-
Accelerated Sales Cycles: By providing clear, concise follow-up materials like one-pagers, the toolkit helped move prospects through the sales funnel more quickly.
